The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, has stated that his team’s season is considered successful even if they do not win the FA Cup or the Premier League.
If the Gunners defeat Bournemouth at the Emirates earlier in the day, City may start their match against Wolves four points behind Arsenal at the top of the standings.
Arsenal may be able to go on and win the title if Guardiola’s team allows points to slip.
However, that won’t alter Guardiola’s feelings about his team.
“It’s not about winning or losing that will change my opinion about what they have done this season,” he declared.
“My opinion about the club will remain unchanged whether we win the title or not, even if we win these two prizes.”
“It’s a big challenge, but we want it, of course, but we are fighting for something no team in this country has ever done—ever.”
