Taiwo Awoniyi was on target twice as Nottingham Forest forced Chelsea to a 2-2 draw in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors took the lead in the 13th minute, with Awoniyi nodding home after getting on the end of Renan Lodi’s cross.
The scoreline remained 1-0 until the end of the first half.
Chelsea upped their game after the break and were rewarded with the equalising goal on 51 minutes.
Trevoh Chalobah’s pass found Raheem Sterling in the centre of the box, and the winger’s shot took a deflection on its way into the net.
Sterling gave Chelsea the lead for the first time in the game seven minutes later.
Awoniyi equalised for Nottingham Forest with his second of the game on 62 minutes.
The striker was replaced by Brennan Johnson nine minutes from time.
Awoniyi’s international teammate, Emmanuel Dennis, missed the game as a result of injury.
The 25-year-old has now scored eight goals and provided one assist in 25 league appearances for Steve Cooper’s side this season.
