According to online reports, there was a clash between one of the late veteran actor Mr. Ibu’s sons and his brother over the actor’s properties.
Blogger Tosin Silverdam alleged that they engaged in a physical altercation on Wednesday, resulting in injuries to one of the sons. The incident reportedly occurred at Mr. Ibu’s residence during a dispute over his property, leaving both parties with bruises and bleeding.
This development echoes previous family conflicts. During the actor’s health battle, there were disputes over donation funds. Reports suggested that Mr. Ibu’s wife, Stella, aimed to control the donation money for her extravagant lifestyle, allegedly withdrawing N1 million from the fund into her account.
Stella Maris, speaking out, accused Jasmine of attempting to alienate her from her marriage. In response, Mr. Ibu’s son, Daniel, refuted these claims, asserting his responsibility for managing the actor’s finances.
Subsequently, Stella reportedly ordered their arrest, but they were later released without charges.
Earlier this year, there were reports of Jasmine and Mr. Ibu’s son being rearrested by the police and awaiting court charges. However, Jasmine refuted these reports by sharing a video of herself with actor Deyemi Okanlawon.
Subsequently, the Nigerian police confirmed the re-arrest of Jasmine’s son, Daniel Onyeabuchi, on allegations of defrauding the actor of N55 million.
During the investigation, incriminating text messages exchanged via WhatsApp between Jasmine and Daniel were uncovered, detailing their criminal collaboration. It was also revealed that they had entered into a fake marriage at the Ikoyi Magistrate Registry, with plans to flee to the UK and settle there with their ill-gotten gains.
Mr. Ibu passed away two weeks ago after a prolonged illness. Emeka Rollas, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, confirmed his death, attributing it to Cardiac Arrest.
Recently, Mr. Ibu’s wife and family were seen for the first time as his body was being transferred from the morgue at Evercare Hospital.
According to reports, his body is being taken to his hometown for burial, where his sons Valantine Okafor and Daniel Okafor, along with other family members, were present to support his wife, Stella Maris, during this difficult time.
