Fans of Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, have applauded her for remaining steadfast in her support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.
In a previous social media post, the mother of three declared her loyalty to Obi, stating, “My choice is @peterobigregory… we need a breath of fresh air & I strongly believe in his vision & mission, most especially his management skills.” Ojo also emphasized the importance of accountability in governance and the need to build a better system for the future of Nigeria. “This vote is not about ethnicity & religion for me,” she wrote.
“It’s about ending the struggle & pain of the common man… It’s about not letting the death of all those who lost their lives during the #EndSARS protest go in vain.”
Expressing her thoughts on the upcoming Nigerian general elections, an unidentified actress stated, “This is deep for me, but unfortunately, I can’t campaign because I’m a target. If God is willing, I pray that His Excellency Peter Obi wins, and I pray he doesn’t disappoint us when he gets in, so help us God.” She continued, “If he doesn’t win, whoever wins, I pray leads Nigeria right. If not, Nigeria will not be able to stand the doom that will await.” Urging the public to vote for their conscience and a better Nigeria, she added, “Please vote for your choice, vote peacefully, protect your vote… #iamobedient #obedientmovement #God bless Nigeria, God bless us all.”
Following her stance, fans and colleagues applauded the actress for not supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, like other Yoruba actors.
Realannjay stated, “On Obi Datti, we stand,” while Tunde Ednut jokingly wrote, “If you were younger than me, I for toast you today ma.”
Hilda Dokubo expressed her gratitude, writing, “Thank you for always standing on the side of truth. Posterity will remember you.”
Peter Okoye commented, “I told you that all entertainers/celebrities are obedient. Here we come,” and Toryvillage thanked the actress for “not joining the Yoruba Nollywood chapter in doing Belle first campaign” and for “supporting the right candidate.”
