Former Liverpool stars, Peter Crouch and Steve McManaman, have named forward, Rafael Leao as the player AC Milan missed during their Champions League semi-final first-leg 2-0 loss to Inter Milan on Wednesday.
Crouch labelled Leao’s absence from the Champions League semi-final clash as a ‘huge blow’ for AC Milan, while McManaman said that it was a pity the Portugal international did not feature in the encounter against Inter.
Leao did not feature against Inter due to a muscle injury he is currently recovering from.
“It is a huge blow, he is the difference maker,” Crouch said on BT Sport about Leao’s absence against Inter.
“We saw the run where he goes past three players and lays it on a plate for Giroud.
“There is no one else in that Milan team that can do it. He is the difference. It is a big moment, players have got to step up, Diaz, Giroud they have still got players who can score goals and create things,” he added.
On his part, McManaman echoed Crouch’s views on commentary, saying: “He is the get-out ball for AC Milan. His ability to run forward and take people on, excite… it is a pity he is missing.
“Hopefully, he will be back next week. It is a bit of a blow for him not to be included today.”
