Along with their expecting parenthood, American musician Nelly and R&B singer Ashanti announced their engagement.
In an exclusive interview with Essence Magazine on Wednesday, Ashanti shared this happy news and expressed her gratitude for the love and excitement this new chapter of her life offers.
“Motherhood is a long-awaited journey for me, and to share it with my family, fiancé, and devoted fans, who have supported my career endlessly, is truly remarkable,” she said.
Ashanti and Nelly rekindled their romance in 2023 after first dating in 2003 and splitting up in 2013. On Ashanti’s birthday in October, they shared a touching Instagram picture to officially announce their love.
Although this is Ashanti’s first child, Nelly is already a mother to two other children.
