The historic city of Kano is experiencing a worse fuel shortage as a result of the closure of the majority of its gas stations.
In the state capital, Vanguard checks found lengthy lines at a few filing stations that were still dispensing the substance.
It was noted that the price at which petrol is sold might range from N850 to N900 per litre for both small and large merchants.
Even the gas stations are selling gasoline in the midst of a raucous throng.
Mustapha, a driver, characterized the circumstances as regrettable, particularly the high cost of the petroleum product that is still unobtainable.
“A few weeks ago, I paid N680 per liter for the last fuel I had in my car. When I went back to buy more, I was told N850.” Regretfully, it nearly reached my turn in the wait when it was ended. The unfavorable aspect of the scenario is that the petroleum product is expensive but still scarce.
He said, “I was forced to pay N1,200 per liter to the black marketers because I had no other choice.”
Black merchants, meanwhile, are profiting handsomely from the situation by selling liters for N1,200.
