Actor Junior Pope and three other crew members died in a boat tragedy on the Anam River in Anambra on Wednesday. In response, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) declared today, Thursday, to be a “No Shoot Day” for all Nollywood filmmakers.
The AGN’s National President, Emeka Rollas, announced on Thursday that the incident had taken place when Adamma Luke, the producer of the film “The Other Side of Life,” was filming it.
Following the tragic boat accident that lost lives at the waterside of River Niger Cable Point in Asaba on April 10, all film projects involving riverine locations and boat rides have been put on indefinite hold.
“On Thursday, April 11, 2024, no location nationally will be used for filming, and the “The Other Side of Life” movie is put on indefinite hold.
“In addition, until further notice, no actor may work with Adamma Luke as a producer while we carry out the ongoing hunt for the remaining victims’ bodies.
“May their souls rest in peace,” he said.
