Amaechi Muonagor, another Nollywood legend, is now battling several illnesses and in severe condition. The ill star’s relative, actor Tony Oneweek Muonagor, revealed the specifics of his health on social media.
According to Tony Oneweek, Amaechi has been properly controlling his diabetes for years, and his family, supporters, and well-wishers have been covering the cost of his care.
The details of Nollywood star Amaechi Muonagor’s condition were revealed by his cousin Tony Oneweek, some weeks after the actor begged for help from his hospital bed.
Oneweek revealed in a detailed Facebook post that his cousin is presently battling kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke. At the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, he undergoes weekly dialysis in addition to other therapies.
With a photo of the actor lying in bed, Oneweek dispelled any rumors regarding his relationship with Amaechi. He went on to say that, prior to his recent stroke, which prompted them to make an aid request, his family had been paying Amaechi’s medical bills for years.
The ailing actor, sixty-one, has also been getting donations from his fans, charities, and other kindhearted people who genuinely care for and support him.
Oneweek did stress that full money is still needed for his cousin’s extensive care and recuperation, even with the efforts made thus far.
He generously asked Nigerians to donate to this cause. Oneweek confirmed, saying,
“Amaechi is not my direct cousin, unlike what certain internet sites indicate. There is only one father, our fathers. We’ve had an amazing working relationship, and I think of him as a brother as well as a coworker.”
He conveyed his appreciation for the tremendous outpouring of solidarity from Amaechi’s acquaintances, supporters, and the Obosi community.
Oneweek reported the kind donations made by a number of organizations to help with Amaechi’s medical costs. He saw some improvement in Amaechi’s health; his blood sugar is now under control, but he’s still in the hospital and needs weekly dialysis, physical therapy, and other important treatments.
