The domestic terminals of Murtala Muhammad Airport in Lagos are once again open for business.
Tuesday, June 4, marks the start of flights again. On Monday, June 3, organized labor began an indefinite strike, which was soon to end.
The walkout was “relaxed” for a week, according to Mr. Francis Akinjole, General Secretary of the Air Traffic Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, so that the unions could carry on with discussions with the Federal Government over a new minimum salary.
According to Akinjole, all access points that had been restricted had been unlocked at the domestic airport terminals I (General Aviation Terminal) and II (Murtala Muhammed Airport II, Lagos).
In a similar vein, Mr. Alale Adedayo, President General of the Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals (ANAP), declared that organized labor had agreed to extend talks with the federal government.
Flight operations on the domestic side of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Ikeja have resumed, according to Adedayo.
