AFRIMEK, the African Men Entertainment Kings, have suspended Shoneye Olamilekan, a prominent figure in Nollywood widely recognized as Papa Show.
The suspension comes as a consequence of alleged acts of physical aggression against Temidayo Morakinyo, a fellow female actor in a junior position. On the 19th of May, a Friday, Morakinyo came forward, accusing Olamilekan of subjecting her to physical abuse while on set in Ibadan.
In a sequence of social media updates, including videos posted on her Instagram profile, Temidayo disclosed the actor’s discourteous act of sending her an errand.
Despite carrying out the errand as requested, she took the initiative to inform her bosses, aiming to prevent any recurrence of such behavior. According to her, on the 18th of May, when she reported Papa Show’s unruly conduct to her supervisors, namely Niyi Johnson and Afeez Abiodun Seriki, they reprimanded him.
Following the rebuke, the actor shockingly intruded on the movie set and resorted to physically assaulting her. Temidayo Morakinyo further expressed that her family is seeking justice as the assault inflicted significant distress on her.
In response to these allegations, AFRIMEK, represented by Mayor Femi Adebayo, disseminated a letter in which they disassociated themselves from the actor. The letter clearly stated that Papa Show’s conduct is incongruent with the principles and reputation upheld by their organization.
In light of his disgraceful behavior, the organization has taken decisive action by penalizing him and promptly suspending him pending further investigations.
Additionally, the association expresses its sympathy towards Temidayo Morakinyo and has extended a generous offer to cover her medical expenses.
Temidayo Morakinyo sobbed in agony while capturing a video that exhibited her bloodied lips, a visible consequence of the distressing events that unfolded in the movie set in Ibadan, Oyo State.
In her accusation against Shoneye, she asserted that he forcefully struck her in the face, accompanied by a barrage of curses. When interrogated regarding the assault, Shoneye purportedly explained, stating that he accidentally made contact with her face using his car key.
