The Abia state Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu has appointed a new Chief of Staff.
He is Mr Chukwuemeka Enwereji, and holds Bachelor of Laws degree from the Abia State University Uturu (ABSU), and as well as a Master of Laws degree from the University of Lagos.
This was contained in a release issued on Wednesday by Onyebuchi Ememanka, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Abia state.
The latest appointment of Enwereji followed the resignation and nomination of the former occupant, Chief Okey Ahiwe who was the 2023 main governorship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia state at the concluded general elections.
His nomination came on the backdrop of the death of the ex-governorship standard-bearer and former Vice-Chancellor of Abia State University Uturu, Professor Uche Eleazar Ikonne at the national hospital, Abuja.
According to the release by Ememanka, “the new appointee attended the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Nigerian bar.
“An established player in the financial services sector of the Nigerian economy, Mr Chukwuemeka Enwereji served as Company Secretary and later, as General Manager/Country head of Travelex, a well known global financial services provider”.
Continuing, the release quoted Governor Ikpeazu as saying Mr Enwereji shall coordinate the activities of the office of the Governor, and ensure seamless exit formalities for the administration.
“This appointment takes immediate effect”, it added.
