After their first marriages failed, these Yoruba Nollywood stars and actresses are not giving up on love. These celebs decided to give love a second shot and have been spending quality time with their partners.
1. Toyin Abraham
Toyin Aimakhu is the name you’re most likely familiar with. In 2013, the producer and director married Adeniji Johnson, a Nollywood actress. The couple’s relationship appeared to be pleasant on social media, as they never stopped gushing about each other.
Surprisingly, word spread in 2015 that celebrity couples were having a good time as they announced their split.
It’s interesting to note, though, that the couple has gone on with their lives, with Toyin Abraham recently welcoming a newborn son with another actor, Kolawole Ajeyemi.
2. Bukky Wright
BUKKY WRIGHT
Gboyega Amu, the father of Bukky Wright’s two sons, had previously been her husband. Shortly after divorcing Amu owing to “irreconcilable disagreements,” she went into the arms of Rotimi Makinde, a fellow actress and former NNPC top shot who is now a member of the House of Representatives, without officially divorcing Gboyega Amu.
The relationship lasted a few years before she moved on in the same way, finding refuge in the arms of Femi Davies, a society journalist and image-maker. Bukky and Femi tied the knot in Lagos’ Akodo Registry.
3. Solomon Akiyesi
Solomon Akiyesi has had four marriages. In 2003, he married Ezinne, his university sweetheart. Solomon was claimed to still be married to Ezinne when he married Lilian, who was 8 months pregnant and living in Port Harcourt when Solomon attempted to marry another wife, Uloma Agwu, in Lagos on April 13, 2013.
When Lilian rushed the Overcomer’s World Outreach church in Surulere, Lagos, where the wedding was taking place, Akiyesi and Agwu were almost pronounced husband and wife. She and a group of family members and police officers assaulted the building.
4. Clarion Chukwura
Clarion Chukwura Clarion married her third husband, Anthony Boyd, who is based in the United States. After her first marriage to a certain Mr. Abiola in 2003, she had a connection with Afro-Juju legend, Sir Shina Peters, with whom she had a son, Clarence Peters.
In 2004, she remarried Femi Oduneye, also known as Femi Egyptian. They did, however, split up in 2006, then reunited before eventually divorcing. In 2017, she lost both her first and second husbands, Tunde Abiola and Femi Oduneye.
5. Femi Adebayo
With his first wife Khadijat, the actor, filmmaker, and director has three children. This was his first marriage, and it, like so many other things in life, ended in failure. Within eight years of their marriage, Khadijat gave birth to three gorgeous children, but they eventually decided not to wait any longer and divorced.
After an eight-year absence from marriage, he married Omotayo Adebayo. They tied the knot in October of 2016.
6. Mercy Aigbe
Mercy Aigbe, who is known for her social media fashion sense, was married to an Igbo man and had a beautiful daughter for him, but the relationship didn’t last and ended a few years later.
Mercy and Lanre married in 2013 at the Ikoyi Registry, however the marriage was also called off in 2017.
7. Foluke Daramola-Salako
After two children, she married Babatunde Sobowale in 2005, but the marriage terminated in 2008 due to charges of wife-battering and infidelity. Since then, the actress has remarried and is happily married to Kayode Salako.
8. Doris Simeon
Daniel Ademinokan, a movie producer and director, was her first husband. Doris and Daniel met on the set of a movie and fell in love. The couple had a son, David Ademinokan, together before divorcing in May 2013 and filing for divorce in court.
Doris Simeon, on the other hand, found love again in 2019, when she married Taiwo Oduala.
